Door & Camera

This plugin brings your Nuki locks and Ring doorbells into GateControl, with its own “Door” tab in the GateControl Android app and in the portal. Lock, unlock and open the door (Nuki Opener: buzzer) from the app, a widget, the portal or right from the notification – unlocking and opening only after confirmation, and from a notification only after unlocking the phone. Nuki is reached locally through the Nuki Bridge or, alternatively, through the Nuki Web API.

When someone rings, everyone allowed to see the door gets a push with a current camera picture; whoever may open the door can do so right from the notification. Motion alerts are optional. The history shows every action with who did it and how, and every ring with its picture; pictures are deleted after a configurable period (7 days by default).

You set rights per person and lock: view only, lock and unlock, or also open, optionally within a time window. Together with the “Family” plugin, GateControl unlocks automatically when you arrive – only for people who explicitly allowed it, never opening the door, and with a door sensor it locks again if the door is not opened afterwards. Plus alerts when the door stays open too long, the lock is jammed or unreachable, the battery is low or the door is still unlocked at night.

Note on Ring: Ring offers no official interface for third-party applications. The plugin uses the unofficial interface that Home Assistant uses as well – without guarantee. Ring can change it at any time; doorbell pushes and camera pictures may then stop working, while Nuki control keeps working independently. Rings are detected by polling and arrive with a delay of a few seconds. Your Ring password is not stored, and all data stays on your own server.
